"These guys were awesome! We were looking around for our own policy and I had initially just submitted information to get a quote, and I got a call short after from Ben. He was able to get my cost lower but with amazing coverage! They have answered every question I’ve had with the process. Highly recommend State Farm!!"

"Worked with Ben. Gave me a quote which was reasonable. I cancelled my home and auto insurance with my prior company and switched over to them. He called me about a week after I had cancelled my home and auto insurance with my prior company saying I would have to get a roof inspection in order to continue coverage. Considering I had already switched over to their company, I was pretty upset about this. I realize (now) that this can happen, but it would have been professional for him to consider and inform me of this possibility while giving the quote (I'm not saying it is required, but you are the professional). Ben doesn't know how to handle an upset customer. He kept talking over me every time I tried to vent my frustration. Eventually, I escalated to Dean who was more or less the same. I received quotes from two other insurance companies and decided to go with another company. Ironically, during both quotes, they DID advise me that a roof inspection might be necessary (this was unsolicited, I did not proactively ask them if it might be necessary). That, in my opinion, is a professional informing a customer who is unfamiliar with this business. Dean then issued a refund of a little over $300. About four weeks later, I got a notice in the mail saying I owed them $126 for the time I did have coverage. Why not just take this out of the initial refund rather than bother me with it four weeks later? In the end, do inspections sometimes happen after you have already cancelled your prior insurance and switch to another company? Sure. I suppose I know that now. Ben, as the professional, could have done a much better job informing a prospective customer of something like this. However, my real problem is how both of them acted at an upset customer. Raising your voice, talking faster, and not letting me speak is not the way to handle upset people. I was pretty calm up to a point. But when Ben kept talking over me, raising his voice and speaking faster, that is what really, really upset me. I can't think of a worse experience I've had at any business in the last few years. *Edit 1/24/26. I am responding to Dean's response. The interaction you're describing wasn't our interaction. It sounds as though it may have been a different customer that had a negative experience with you. I worked with you last month. I did not receive a letter from your underwriter saying to "address his roof that was in a condition that an imminent loss would likely result", as you have stated. As stated above, I received a call from Ben. My roof passed inspection with no issues with my current insurer. Please don't make assumptions, which you have done here in spades. My original statement is how my experience unfolded."

"For the benefit of those who may read this post- I am not certain of the identity as it is an anonymous post; however, it may be related to an unusual situation I encountered months ago in 2025 which unfortunately was the worst customer experience I have had in several years. —I recall having an unusual conversation that began with lawsuit threats and anger directed at me and my agency. An individual complained of a letter he received from our underwriter that he needed to address his roof that was in a condition that an imminent loss would likely result. I explained that underwriting inspections are random, and in this case happened without our knowledge. Due to all factors known and disclosures by the customer- my team had no reason the believe there would be a problem with the roof or an inspection needed. After successfully calming this individual down with kind explanations- I presented him with several solutions. He seemed much better emotionally and more understanding by the end of our call. It seems from the remarks above that other insurers engaged also had concerns about the roof in question. This result may have been upsetting once again, prompting the post. Please know at my agency we do everything in our power to help our customers regardless of their concerns even when circumstances are out of our control such as unexpected underwriting decisions. It is very rare that we encounter an individual that we cannot help with their insurance needs. I wish all the best to Empire and hope the roof in question can be remedied. I have had to replace old worn-out roofs before and understand it’s not always and easy task. Best Regards, 😉😉 "
